Kit Check is looking for a mid-level UX Designer to build upon and lead our efforts to deliver efficiently powerful experiences for our users. As the sole UX professional on the team, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to define and drive best practices while also supporting two rapidly growing products. We provide enterprise software to hospital pharmacies and other hospital stakeholders who are used to painful and boring user experiences. You're the right candidate for this role if you have enough design experience to know how to do things right but your still eager to make your mark. You love engaging end-users to learn how they work and solicit feedback on your designs. You constantly look for ways to simplify workflows and surprise end-users with designs that anticipate their needs. You have enough technical chops to earn trust with your development team and are pragmatic enough to help your product owners deliver products on time without sacrificing quality. You work fast, aren’t afraid to make a mistake and own it when you do. You are self-driven and passionate about life so you roll up your sleeves when you see a problem and fix it or make sure that someone else does.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user interface problems and create designs that meet measurable business goals and requirements
  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, technical constraints/opportunities, and usability findings
  • Identify user experience challenges by reviewing usage data and monitoring customer feedback from customer-facing teammates and NPS responses
  • Work closely with the business team to develop user scenarios, storyboards, and high-level requirements
  • Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flows
  • Take end-user requirements and quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
  • Validate design work with customer-facing teams and end-users
  • Build and maintain in-app walkthroughs that help guide end-users

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, user interface designer or similar role
  • A portfolio or work samples demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Proven experience designing user experiences for B2B SaaS applications
  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
  • Experience and knowledge of design theories and its application to user-facing designs
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Sketch, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Axure
  • Demonstrated visual design expertise; capacity for creating engaging, highly usable designs and layouts, and a propensity towards simplification
  • Ability to turn around rigorous wireframes and mockups in an iterative, agile environment
  • Ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately
  • Ability to prototype in HTML/CSS or similar tools highly desirable
